Frequently Asked Questions

How thick is the wood?

If you're used to standard lumber thicknesses seen on many American made products, you'll be thoroughly impressed with the generous thick wood portions our Indonesian manufacturer uses on each and every Westminster Teak product. Where 3/4" lumber would normally be used, 7/8" to 1" thick lumber is used. Where 1" lumber would normally be used, 1 1/8" to 1 1/2" lumber is used. Table top rails are a solid 1 1/8" thick. Posts for benches average 1 3/4" - 2 1/4" thick. By using extra thick pieces of wood, the final product is extremely solid and durable and will last a lifetime.
