The order (which was a present shipped to my parents) did indeed arrive intact. My parents had waited to open the boxes until my husband and I were out with them over Christmas week. (Settling into a new house a mere 2 weeks later prior to the arrival of Christmas guests, I think they were hesitant to begin a new assembly project, particularly as most of our experience in these matters is that these tasks can be a bit more time consuming than one might expect/hope!) In short my parents were ecstatic and absolutely love the pieces. I am thrilled with the quality and how well they look at their new place.
